During our first session we will use the hour to work out together if counselling and you will match and also – if you and me will match.
An assessment gives you the time and space to explain the problem as you see it and begin to establish goals or aims for any ongoing counselling.
This also helps me to begin to build a picture of how and if counselling could help you and if so, how to tailor our future sessions to meet your needs.
During this assessment session I will ask you to talk about what is troubling you and your expectations of counselling.
If I feel another agency or specialism would better suit your needs then I will endeavour to give you as much support and information for your to access different support.
Towards the end of this assessment you can decide whether counselling is for you and whether you want to book any future sessions or contract a period of counselling.
We can review our time together at any stage and discuss whether your needs are being met and you are achieving what you hoped.
